You may be able to search here and find out what people feed them. If it's any reassurance, the mother would not have provided any care to them anyway (and may have tried to eat them).

What are they in? As long as they are in a filterd tank you should be fine. If not and they are in a pail or something, as long as you have an airpump and are willing to do water changes you should be fine. As for a community tank that depends on how well they hide. If you feed any flakes to your other fish just crush some up in your fingers. It works fine. If your LFS has baby brine shrimp you can cut a piece of this off and defrost and then place in tank. I know our fry love this stuff.
As to why they die after giving birth I have no clue. I am pretty sure all of our platy have graced us with fry and they have done so a few times. I do know that from some reading that they can get sick if they are pregnant and stressed all the time. Maybe someone else will be able to help you better here.
Sorry for your loss!!

I just wish i knew how to get them to stay living after they give birth. Ha i keep them in the pitch black when they are birthing and then after i give them some food. and they seem fine then they die.

It is hard to say. Some strains have the problem bred into them. A healthy mother should survive birthing.

That really is odd! I have three Platy females that have given birth at least three times each - and one is about to do it again! Typically a nice meal and a good night's sleep is all they need to get back to normal.
Is everything ok in the tank? Water params good? If you have more males than females they might be putting too much stress on the females.

Well yeah everything in the tank is great but, they just die ugh i get so sick of it like i always say really when i see this happen because i just never have luck. Thursday i am going back to the LFS to trade in my new angel ha it died IDKY but it was fine no marks or anything just stress i guess. :( to get a new one and a new platy female.
I suppose it was just a weak fish.
As for the fry...it seems to me based on my VERY limited experience with fry, that its important not to allow any excess food to build up on the bottom of the tank. I was losing a fairly high amount of babies until someone mentioned that I really need to focus on keeping my babies tank really clean! Well, after I started cleaning the excess food every other day, my baby mortality rate dropped.
As for feeding them, use your fingers and just smash up some of your regular flake food, they should be fine.
Sorry about your momy fish, that's not normal (Othem dying from giving birth)
