How much do you think it would cost to setup a 55g reef.

I have the tank, stand, and an AC 70 filter but how much would it cost for all the other stuff?

I am probably not actually gonna do this but still how much would it cost with the LR and LS?
Thanks again guys!:22:

Much more likely to be around $20+ a gallon. Live rock alone can easily run over $10 a gallon (you need 1.5-2lbs per gallon and it averages $8/lb).

I wouldn't buy any rock from the LFS I would look for people tearing down their reefs on craiglist and specialized reef forums, I got my 140 lbs of rock from someone who tour down their tank for about $2 a pound.

yeah thats a better idea. So if I found a good deal that means the rock would be about 150 dollars.
fuge would be about 20$ for the overflow, I already have an empty 10 g.
skimmer 50$
lights would probably be at 70$
wavemaker 30$
heater 25$

thats about 350$ for the transformation.:ssuprised:

hmm..I gues ill stick with the 14g for now.

:hmm3grin2orange: Actually when you figure in quality live rock, sand, good equipment and livestock its around $50-75 per gallon for just a nicely sat up tank, higher tech reefs can top over $100 per gallon fully sat up.
