lol i didnt mean it to be creepy at all im sorry. but like mojo said everyone here is so knowlegeable and respectful it was a shock to hear how young some people are on the forum. if anything i respect the younger generation for helping people that are not as educated in the hobby. i appoligize if anyone has taken this the wrong way.

25 here, been keeping fish on and off since i was 9 or so. It is pretty cool that so many of the younger people here on the AC seem like they have beyond their years worth of knowledge, and also great attitudes.

I guess I'm the old lady!!! I'm 40. Hopefully I don't look it? That's a recent picture of me above. Being this is a forum about fish, I figure I'll go ahead and cast the net and fish for an "oh no... no... you don't look nearly that old" compliment [Only Registered Users Can See Links.]
It surprised me, too, to learn how young some of the members are but in a good way. There are some very dedicated and informed young people here and that is a good thing IMO! [Only Registered Users Can See Links.]

I am 14
Once i got a tank I got really interested and I now have 8 freshwater, brackish, and marine aquariums. It takes me an hour each day for maintenence, especially that pesky marine tank that I love.
I am also very interested in studying marine biology on my own time, and supporting and raising money for conservation efforts. I like to keep native fish aquariums a lot to. Sampling species in differant water ways is always a blast.

im 26 but can pass for 18... then when people find out i have two kids??? lol its funny. been keeping fish since 13. mum said i could have water snails... no fish, but when the tank got mosquito larvae in it fish where bought for the control lol. now running to many tanks (not enough in my eyes though hehe). its really good to see younger people taking up the hobby so seriously and are so mature. its goes to show that not all teenagers are irresponsible. :22:

Sigh....48 LOL
its funny, kids (YOU guys) are so much older these days! I would have NEVER guessed the ages in this joint!
The fact that you guys take this hobby so serious and even joined this site to further your knowedge in the hobby says a lot about you and your character! I've dealt with a LOT of kids over the past 20 years and I can almost say without a doubt that if more kids took up hobbies such as this and exhibited the level of maturity and responsibility as you guys........i'd have dealt with FAR less kids over the years!
So, here's an attaboy to you young people! I'm proud of each and everyone of you!
For those of you over 40.....there's no hope for you!:22:

Well said Mith - I try to tell this to my teenage son all the time. Any hobby that keeps you busy is good but if you can love it and learn it it will lend itself years of enjoyment (and for some, less of pain to the parents).
And being part of that over 40 group - I can change - I just don't want to - I like me!!! Broken down old me!! but I like me anyway!! :hmm3grin2orange:
