Brought home my 'new' 55g. The seller mentioned he hadn't cleaned it...I just figured it was dusty...lol...

...silly me...he REALLY didn't clean it! It was a SW tank and it's salt and algae encrusted...

...what's the easiest and fastest way to get it sparkling clean for goldfish?

Use warm water and scrub hard.

I would fill it and let it soak first to soften the crusties, then use a nylon scraper to remove as much as possible. For really hard water stains CLR can be used, just make sure you rinse very well. A bleach solution can also be used, but that won't help with hard water stains. Whatever you use, rinse very very well.

If you don't want to use a bleach solution, try vinegar, that's what i used on my used 20G and it worked out great.
