Hermit shell question

I'm in need of smaller hermit shells and can't seem to find them locally, but one of our freshwater tank is loaded with trumpet snails. We recently purchased some assassin snails to kill the mts. The larger MTS shells are perfect for our hermits so I was wondering if there was any problem with using the mts shells in our reef after the assassins kill them, and after a good boil of course?

yes should be okay as long as you boil them for about 30-60 mins then they should be ok :)
