Yesterday I added 2 peppered corys and 3 Black Fin corys to my already 5 peppered corys in my 55 gallon tank. It is amazing the difference it made to the five to now be seven. I've been noticing from this site that over 6 seems to be the magic number to get them to travel more in packs. They are so happy! And they have just taken the other three in with them as if they are all one big happy family.
The store indicated my new ones are Punctatus Corys. However, in researching it this morning, I think they are rather Cory Leucomelas, or, the Black Finned Cory . I am attaching a couple of my pictures. The three have adapted just fine. I used the drip acclimation method to acclimate them that Wild Turkey recommended and explained. (A couple weeks ago I lost 3 skunk corys I tried to add). One of them intitially wasn't happy with the friendliness of the peppered corys, but they have overall enjoyed being together. While the Black Finned ones do hang out together, they also assimilate in nicely with the 7 peppered corys too.
