Last week I posted a question about a black skirt tetra I have that is swimming funny. I think I have found out the problem

This damn dalmation molly I have has been nipping at him and most of his tail is now missing. I plan to take the dalmation back to the store, I dont want him doing this to the others.

Anyways, my question is. If I move the black skirts to my 10g for a while will his tail grow back or is that the way it will be til it passes on?

Thanks

get rid of that mollie , keep the tank as clean as possible and it could grow back .. as long as he doesnt get a fungus infection he should be fine. otherwise you need to get melafix or pimafix, i cant remember which one is the anti fungle med

I had mollies long ago and found them to be nasty as heck. I'd do as bushwhacker suggested.

The tail will grow back and heal eventually. I would move it to the 10g and treat it with Melafix. Melafix will aid in re-growing the damaged tail. It will also help protect the black skirt from drawing any bacterial infections.

Pimafix would also be good as it will protect the Black Skirt from fungal infections.

Make sure to return that molly ASAP.

So it won't affect any other fish if I treat the 10g with Melafix? I don't want to just put him in the 10 by himself.

Thanks
