Is there such a thing as a "cleaner" or sucker to help keep the slime down that:

1) can be kept w/ Danios
2) will stay pretty small (3" ish)
3) does not need to be in a school (I like dumbed down fish :hmm3grin2orange: )
4) is somewhat social
5) prefers warmer water 77-81

I am starting my research for the next addition and need some suggestions

In a 10 gallon, probably a snail would be your best bet. Maybe a bushy nose pleco but they might get to big for your tank.

the smarter and smaller cleaner crew in the wet world :

""The brown algae appears when the aquarium is young, is brown in color, and covers everything from walls to driftwood to leaves like a thin curtain. It is easily dealt with by adding a natural enemy, the best of which is Otocinclus."

Ottos would work. Best way is a scraper, paper towels and a little elbow grease.
