hey guys, first I just want to thank everyone for urging me on getting a bigger tank for my GSP. So i buckle down yesterday and bought a 64Gal tank. I havent set it up yet, because i need to go get the media, sand, and a new heater. I dont know the spec. of any of the equipment since it was purchase as a whole kit here in Japanland. But it looks pretty decent.. hope yall can help me stock this bad boy:)
here's a picture of it.

If thats the filter in that little box to the left of center then it looks very, very small for your tank.
Other than that, the dimensions on that tank look really nice. I like the depth. Are you going to plant it?

no that is just the power head for the filter, i posted some more pics on the bottom. I am going to experiment on the 20Gal first with the planting, if all goes well i will try my luck with this set up.

If you want easy, fool proof plants, just go to Wal-Mart and buy whatever seed interests you by the fish food. It is sort of hard to find, but they probably stock two or three choices in dry, plastic wraps. They don't have much of a selection and it is basically weeds, but all those things need are fluroscent lights and they will sprout, grow, grow, and grow some more. That is how I started with plants.

Great looking tank! Is that an overhead wet/dry filter?
My dresser is supporting my 100G tank, it is only re-inforced with a piece of 3/4" plywood and that was only due to the fact the tank was an 1/2" wider than the dresser. Solid wood dressers are better than most aquarium stands on the market these days.

thanks Killer, yes it is a wet/dry filter, also the tank is smaller than the dresser. The dresser is 1/2'' wider on the fron and back and close to 1''-1.25'' on the sides. Its a sturdy dresser made with solid wood. If you say your dresser support a 100G then im sure this will support my 64G. :hmm3grin2orange: yay! more money for fishes!!

Sweet, do let me know how you like this filter....ive been eyeballing them for ages. If anything I would put like a 1/2" piece of plywood stained to match the dresser under the tank...will give you extra support and protect your dresser if you ever wanted to remove the tank from it.

just put gravel in my tank and filled it up with water.. waiting for it to settle and less cloudy.. bought a some nice rocks and drift wood for it:) cant wait to hook it up, anyways will post pic it clears out. Might be a stupid question, but do u have to wait for a full cycle tank before planting?

Nope, you sure dont have to wait for the tank to cycle before planting it. Actually planting it will help speed up the cycling process. Just be sure to fully cycle the tank before adding any fish to the mix.
