thumbs2:
I was shocked to discover a miniature panda coming in and out of the log in my tank - a little sad to almost confirm that he is the only one, but still - my pandas bred! Yahoo! Now which of the 6 are the parents? lol

That's great!! I'm trying to get my gold/green to breed but haven't had any luck yet.
If you don't mind me asking how much did you pay for your pandas? I wanted to pickup a school of 6 for one of my 20G tanks and found that they were $10 a piece! You might be sitting on a gold mine! :hmm3grin2orange:
woo congrats, means your doing something right!

Hi! I think I paid around $6.00 a piece...I really do need to find a gold mine, but they are just so very adorable. He is only like a half an inch long at the moment.

Congrats! Panda's are my favorite but I can never find them around here! When I had three peppered cories they were spawning all the time and I'd constantly find eggs on the glass, but never had any babies. I recently lost my big female and am still bummed about it...
I found a lone panda at Wal Mart of all places, but lost her a little while ago to a random skin abrasion :( Found some at my LFS, bought 4, and lost 3 the first night :( Now I'm back to a lone panda among two peppers... need to add some to the school.
The last price I saw them at in NH was 4 something each... I wish I could find more again.
GOOD for you ! that is so cool!
as Red Severum said earlier, you must do something right !
keep up the good work!
you should post a picture when you ll get a chance, i would love to see the new little one!:ssmile:

Lucky you!
Did you even know they spawned? Did you know there were eggs? And congrats! Pandas are the cutest! I'm very jealous! I want my peppered to breed.

Hi,
NO! I had no idea! In fact, I was panicked that someone had been long dead. I was doing a cleaning, and this tiny black and white thing floated up and drifted back down. I was shocked to discover it was a baby, because I had heard that they are very difficult to breed and only lay a few eggs. I did have another hatching last week, so I am hoping that little one is as clever and will make a debut in a few weeks. Fingers crossed....

Another baby panda surfaced yesterday! He is still very frylike and a fraction of the size the first one was when I spotted him. His only coloring at the moment is a black spot on his head. The rest of him is pretty transparent. He probably isn't quite big enough to be "safe" out in the tank, but he has popped in and out of view several times. The first baby is now almost an inch long.
Yay!:19:

Thank you. It's pretty exciting - especially since they are probably my favorite fish.
