question about primafix...

I was wondering if primafix and melafix kills the beneficial bacteria in my filters? I hope not, or my 40 is going to really go downhill. The fungus on my fish seems slightly better today, the one who had it really bad is clearing up, but is breathing heavy, not sure if he'll make it. Here's hoping.

I have used both on my QT tanks and have never noticed a spike in ammo or trites. IMO it does not seem to negatively impact the bacteria.

After long 7-10 days (as directed) treatments they can effect your bacterial load. There's very little way to distinguish between good and bad bacteria so most antibacterial products are going to kill both. Odds are you might go through a mini-cycle, my tanks did.
