I got 4 angels a couple months ago and one of them is already a jerk. He chases and nips at my tetra's and chases the corys and bites at the other 3 angels. This tank is heavily planted with a lot of tetra's to amuse him so it's not like he doesn't have some dithers. I know angels just love hassassing each other but honestly, he goes full troddle across the tank after my tetra's.
He's only a baby but I bet will be a pit bull when he's full grown.

Already he's on my poo list.

I might toss him in the tank with my blood parrots. He will be far outsized and that might bring him down a notch or two.

(So nice seeing you here, my lady.)

It really stinks when that happens. Was the fish in a group when you purchased him? I've heard about this kind of thing before but it happens a lot more in fish that have been solo for a while.

Putting him in another tank with larger more aggressive fish sometimes helps, although you'll probably not be able to return him to the original tank without these problems popping up again.

All babies purchased at the same time. He was a snot almost from the beginning.

That's too bad, cichlids are funny like that though, with so many in a tank at a LFS, unless he looks completely different from the others and you have a few hours to watch his every move, theres no real way to tell exactly how they'll act until you get 'em home.

I've never had any luck taming a cichlid (angel, discus, keyhole) that I've had this kind of situation with.

I had the same problem with one of my male discus. He killed I don't know how many hundreds of dollars worth of discus ..........the group he was origionally with plus replacements. (And me being too stuborn or stupid, depends on which way you look at it lol) refused to just get rid of him and keep going. I finally got mad and said to h e double hockey sticks with it and canned the whole discus tank itself and went with another tank of my first loves.........beer......no lol african cichlids.

I didn't know you didn't have your discus anymore. You had some beauties.

I shouldn't have gotten cichlids again. I don't like aggression, biting, chasing, making others hide and hundreds of eggs! Should have just gotten more blood parrots!!

I would put him in a tank with BP's and let him get beat up a little bit and then add him back. I am growing out 9 angels right now, and have one or to bad apples who has to be removed.
