Congratulations on your German Blue Rams!

We are setting up an aquarium this week that will have some GBR's in it once it's established. We're getting ours, and some albino bristlenose plecos, from Algenco of this forum. I can hardly wait!!!

As for sexing them, here is an article with pictures that should help: [Only Registered Users Can See Links.]

To me, the one in front looks to be a female and the one in back a male. The differences are in the pelvic fins, the black spot on the side, and the belly. The females have blue pelvic fins while males are black. I may have that reversed, but because of heavy breeding, that is not always an accurate way to identify. The spot on a male is black w/o sparkles in it, however, when a male is stressed those sparkles have a tendancy to show through which can make it difficult to identify in the store. Also, the females have a red belly, but the redness can come and go, again, making it difficult.

Congrats on the new fish, I think 2 weeks is the common recommendation.
