Or am I just sappy!! :scry:

My son from CA was here for a visit. Just one night. Very tan, very healthy and looking very handsome. You'd think I would be overjoyed that he loves his life so much and is going to helicopter pilot school that he's wanted to do forever. And I really am but you think I could do anything but bawl?????

I hate that.

That's just a moms job lol. My mom was the same way and I wouldn't have had it any other way.

Yup. Dads give a handshake and away they go. Mom's hug and hug and then bawl for 5 hours.

I wish I had that problem. My mom hasn't spoken to me in 16 years. She made me choose between her and my wife and I called her bluff.

Your son is damn lucky you care enough to cry.

That is sooooo wrong. You raise your kids knowing they will someday have their own family. Too bad your mother wasn't willing to share. You don't have ownership on your children! Too bad she is missing out on her sons life by her own selflessness. I probably won't see my son now for probably a year and can hardly stand it.

It's cool that you love your son so much Lady H, I bet he appreciates your
emotions and feelings towards him. really sorry to hear about your situation
Cristoff, that's gotta hurt bud!

It's something I came to grips with long ago, but thanks for the sentiment.

It stinks that you won't see him for about a year Lady H, but it'll make the next visit even more filled with the GOOD kind of tears!

Awe Hobbs! It's okay. My Mom does that too. At first it was a bit weird but, after her explaining to me that I dont look so bad that it makes her want to cry, I just try to smile and not act a fool.

I never got along with my mother either. I decided long ago my kids would be far more loved than I had been. Guess I went overboard!
