This is such a long-overdue idea, I can't believe it...

I know a lot of public washrooms have been shut down of the years because of abuse...but I had actually never considered having an 'open' system.

If the city keeps it clean enough, it should work.

Although this is for men...I really hate having to 'bathroom' hunt - and we do that lot because everytime we make a run to town - it's inevitably a 4 hour outing and a washroom is needed at some point...

An open air public urinal? Decency and modesty have officially left the building...

We all have to pee...frequently...

And I'd rather we all pee'd in official, safe, facilities...rather than in backalleys or against buildings...or out in the complete open...:hmm3grin2orange:

i think we've had those for a year now, better than using trees or garbage cans

Hmm, guess I'm just old school here. I have no desire to be walking down the street with my daughter and have someone taking a leak behind a man-made half assed barrier.

Why couldn't they build a real facility? San Fransisco hase some great self cleaning setups that work for both genders, not just drunk guys with no class.

It MAY be why no Canadian city made the "most happy" places to live list. :ssuprised:

Odd, because canada places 6th on the list of happiest countries and america isn't on the top 10.

Actually, depending on the survey you go by the numbers are different but canada is always higher than the US by 5 or more slots.

When you have closed facilities you have a lot of crime...esp. drugs and illegal sexual activities...

I'd rather have my daughter know a man is peeing behind a barrier than risk my son walking into an enclosed facility and being accosted...

Then there's the one-way glass urinal

Well I also have opinions on how that can be corrected, but that's for another discussion.

Apparently my small town, conservative ideals are becoming more and more the minority. (blush) I feel there are MUCH better options than this.
