I have 3 moss balls in my tank right now, and I think it would look really cool to get the large piece of driftwood to become covered with the moss.

How do I go about doing this?

that depends. are they marimo moss balls or java moss? marimo are actually a bacteria and i dont belive it can be pulled apart. java is simple just pull it apart wrap and tie it to your wood

Tie it to the log with fishing line and it will attach itself over time

Ok, thats what I thought. How long about? I ripped it into 4 pieces and placed them all around the wood.

Shouldnt take very long if its growing well, it will actually attach to the glass in some cases even

ok thanks lol. My wood has a lot of caves and if I can get it to make a carpet across it my eel will love it lol. Although, he likes to ''ride'' my stingray it seems lol

i'd just use black cotton thread. by the time the thread rots the moss will have attached to the wood and you dont have the fishin line in the tank.. this piece of wood is almost 2 ft long. i took the moss from a piece half its size just a few months ago...oh your only seeing half of the log lol
