If I thought last year was busy - I need to think again!
I already bought myself a nice new agenda that's going to make it easy to keep track of everything.
I've already turned down so many things.. I've got some music conductors literally begging me to help them out percussion-wise (which I have already told them I cannot... more than once), I've been really going places at the SPCA... mom says they're just waiting until I'm 16 and they can do more with me - they've already got me working with vet techs and updating animal info, uploading it to the site... I work with the pet therapy team, the younger kids.. I've been a camp counsellor...
But the thing that is probably going to take up most of my time is drama. We do a big show every year and we also do a festival entry. Well, I've learned that our festival entry is going to be about cancer and that we will be doing alot of fundraising and things and will be showing it 3 or 4 times, on top of our big show... Alice in Wonderland. I have been told that we will be so emotionally drained after each rehersal and that all of the people who have read the script have cried. I am the stage manager and I know this is going to be extremly hard. I lost a very close family friend to lung and bone cancer in April, and a friend who I always did Relay For Life (for cancer research) with passed away in August. My grandmother fought and won her battle with breast cancer a few years ago, and my aunt in the president for a major part of Ontario's Cancer Society.
On top of this, a good chunk of my classes are grade 11 and 12.. even my homeroom and locker is a grade 11/12 class. So much for being with friends!
