if you plan to add most or all of the fish listed above into a 30 gal. tank, then problems will arise. you have a betta? if so , forget the danios-they will get all the food and their activity will disturb the betta. your possible selections vary so you might consider a theme tank. betta, group of tetras, 6 cories.

...ehm ..no I'm not going to add all the listed below maybe just a school Danios and a swordtail.

I would like to try anyway , Betta has learned the hard way to get his food since the neons are voracious and fast !!!

My experience with Zebra Danios was not a good one. They not only tormented each other, they actually killed one of my Guppies.

I think they would stress your Neons with all their activity. My Rasboras did stay in a nice tight school when the Danios were in the tank. I think they were scared of being chased or eaten.:ssuprised:

I know Danios work well for others, but I'll never have them in my tank again.

I have Neons, Danios, and a betta in my planted tank. They've been together for a long time now without a single incident. All the fish are thriving and my betta is as happy and colorful as can be.

No problem. Just make sure you have at least 6 neons as they like to school.

all :ssmile:
tank is now fully stocked:ssmile: but not as planned, see my first post in this thread .

I have introduced :
1 Swordtail ( I guess a very young one bcause the size of it )
6 Platies
2 Otocinclus ( guys I must say that they are very nice fellas indeed ) found a lot of infos here http://www.otocinclus.com/

Compatibility : Kept an eye on them all week end : I had no problem with my Betta , he did some flaring ( which was something beautifull and terrible to see !!! ) at beginning and sometimes is still chasing platies but he is not really attacking them seriously ) , also ok with the swordtail and the Otos.

I'd stick with only the zebra's then and not try to add another type of danio. I have the long- finned danio and really liked them a lot. Added some zebra's and they shredded the fins off the long-finned the first night. Like gabbyguppy, I prefer the rasbora to the danio's. To me, the danio's just chase but the rasbora swim.

I personally like the danios
They are like battery charged little darts playing tag and there is no really good way to tell who wins as they change who is being chased as often as a new born needs diapers. Yet they will separate and hide till feeding time which 2 of mine have figured out that 1/2 the food gets to the bottom so they wait on it instead of chasing it like the other 4.

If you have kids they should be a great spectacle for them my 2 & 5 yo's love 'em
