Help what is on my tanks glass??

This stuff is hard and my snale or star fish cant eat it off

looks to me your tank is glass, I'd say time to get out the good old razorblade.

A bigger picture would help id the type. But to me it looks like green coraline algae. Razor blade is probably the only effect way of getting it off the front glass.
