To make up for what was probably my stuff up of posting my fish in the non-fish related section, I thought I would post these pics my dad took in outback N.S.W.
Not the sort of thing you see every day. The snake is about 6ft the goanna about 3 1/2 to 4ft.

Wow, those bitmaps are huge partner. You should convert them before uploading.

Vista doesn't like me very much & gets upset anytime I try to change the file type of pics my old man took. I reduced them as much as I could.
If you have any hints on making files smaller for me I am very willing to learn. I hate computers & they hate me right back. I think it's just that Vista Premium blows. XP was heaps better & I used to be able to change file format easy. Not with Vista.

Use photobucket or something similar to host your pics, then just link to them.
That snake worked for its meal, a goanna doesn't go down easily.

Photbucket plays worse games with me than Vista does. I am working on an album in photobucket but it keeps messing with me hiding & deleting stuff, so it's taking some time. I won't be posting more pics from dad anyway so my file sizes will go back to the normal jpeg. These pics are just a one off.

No bravery. There's no way a snake that is eatting something that size can harm a person. So long as it's mouth is full a snake can't hurt you. Besides, we are born & raised in the Aussie bush so snakes & goannas are common. It's just very unusual to see one eatting the other. At least at that size.

Are you down NSW?

These pictures are the main reason that the one thing you will never see in the outback is ME!(blush)

Aeonflame - No. My dad lives in NSW & took the pics while on tour with his
4x4 club. I have been forced to move to Perth city in W.A. for work. Raising four boys costs a fortune.
Nothing wrong with the outback. Trust me the snakes etc are a lot less dangerous than driving in any city. I'd rather deal with a snake anyway, they are fairly predictable. People aren't.

that is very cool. i would think that a lizard that size could do a little damage before it died, with its claws. that snake was probably taking a gamble with getting injured.

do you know what type of snake it is? how the heck can it move from there after it is finished?

I THINK it's a black headed python. Maybe a Bandy Bandy but thier markings are slightly different.
He would have moved very slowly off the road to a comfy spot to digest his meal for a few days.

Those are awesome pics mate! And you're right, not very often that you see one eating the other.
