Going out tommorow and will spend my day off converting my playsand/fake plant tank into a planted community.

Stocking will be as it is currently:
8 neon Tetras
6 Zebra Danios
6 Peppered Cories
1 Male CrownTail betta
1 Snail who appeared from nowhere and is awesome.

Going to be a bit of mixed rock/Wood that ive had aside for when I decided to do this. First shot at a planted tank so I'm excited :)

Pics tomorrow afternoon/night!

Some of the better lookin fake plants will stay in for a bit to fill some space, DEPENDING on how many plants i can get today and how it comes together.

Sorry, may have made it hard to understand. The tank is a 20 gallon LONG:14:

Just got back from the store. 2 bags of flourite, 1 Rubberlip Pleco and assorted Anubis, Anacharis, Wisteria and Swords :) Time to get down to business.

Flourite is in, Water looks like chocolate....

Running an AC 70 in it stuffed with floss to try to remove some of the silt, also doing changed a bucket at a time, its starting to clear up.

Wiggs, did you rinse it well before you put it into the tank? Flourite really needs to be rinsed well before you put it into the tank.

Started to rinse it, it was looking not so hot in my tub and didnt want to ruin anything.

Cant use a hose outside because I'll get into trouble with homeowners Association washing out all this substrate and flooding the neighborhood :(

It should be rinsed outside. Put the stuff on some type of screen and use the hose to rinse, rinse, rinse. I hope it clears up for you, but it's going to take a lot of filter floss doing it your way. And make sure you rinse out the impellor assembly so you don't ruin your AC filter.

I've gone back to doing massive WCs and stirring the substrate. According to the packaging, it may need a "slight" rinsing.... thats bull.

Live and learn my friend. Keep in mind that your plants are going to do very well when you're able to plant them. :22:

Update time! plants are growing well, the Anacharis has grown 7"+ since I started the tank and the wisteria is growing faster and less leggy.
