And they show hunting tendencys,I imagine when they get bigger they will chow down on my excess molly babys.I was so worried they would only eat live fish that when I saw them eat pellets today I felt relieved big time. The same can be said about my nandus,I dont know if he has eaten any fish yet.He is in my 58 gal planted and is damn near invisible.

The nandus is a slow grower and he solves any overstocking issues as he gets bigger, kinda conveniant huh:hmm3grin2orange: The bush fish get about 5-6" so with the parrots and silver dollars, fetherfin and tiger plec thats about it for the 55.The bush fish will also solve the too many small fish dilemna as well. These are my first predators, not counting my blood thirsty angel.I envision the planted 58 becoming the nandus's domain with only the angel, some corys, both plecs and my raph.Im growing very bored with small tetra, bon appetite:jaws:

Ya, tetras are fine for dithers or planted tanks, but they just seem to lack something in the long haul.

My bush fish is around 4 inches and has really gotten fat. He loves frozen krill, shrimp pellets, cichlid pellets, guppies, crickets, brine shrimp, ghost shrimp, etc......he is one of my favorites. See if you can catch him yawning....they can open their mouth extremely large, which is why they can swallow their prey so quickly and easily.....be careful what you stock though....he ate my young chinese algae eater that was about 1 1/2 inches long no prob....

I thought I told you they eat pellets, but looking through the threads I see that I did not. I was pretty happy too!

The south american leaf fish is the one that ONLY eats live food.
