how long have you been cycling? its probally a better idea to wait until your tank is cycled, incase anything happenes(knock on wood). Stingray are cool:) when u do get it, post some pics:)

It takes a couple weeks to cycle using ammonia.....sometimes 3. How are you cycling?

Teacup (reticulated) rays are uber sensitive and will not do well if the tank is not perfect. They can also be the pickiest feeders in the world!

What size tank is this? they can reach a disk size of 17".

Teacup has a max size in aquarium of 14 inches, males are smaller then that.

On page 2 a guy has one with a 15" disk and 30" TL (this was in 07)...thus I would say they get larger than 14". I am going to inquire more info from him on this ray...just to see if he still has it and how large it is.

I always hate posting links to other forums, but if it helps...i guess that's what counts? I asked him a few questions...I'll update if I get a response.

People tend to not think outside of the box (in this case it's a glass box). just because eveyone assumes/reads they get 12-14 inches...then it has to grow between 12-14 inches. Obviously not always the case. It's safer to aim high and have the fish not grow quite as large as planned.
