So I got the java fern, moss, and anubias. However, I soon found out those all have to be attached to something for them to grow. What are some easy low light plants that i can just plant down into my playsand? I don't want my driftwood completely covered in plants....want to fill out the rest of the aquarium. I do have one anacharis (sp) and like it alot. I just am running a 26 watt CFL bulb over a 10 gallon tank. Roughly 2.6 wpg, and dosing with flourish once a week. Thanks!

If you don't want your drift wood to be covered fully, just trim the plants from time to time.

Some other plants to look at would be Crypts. They are wonderful IME.

26W over a 10g is not really low light. You could try crypts, swords, bulb plants, vals, ludwigia and rotalas to name a few with that kind of light.

I have 2..5wpg of spiral fluorescent over my 29g and I can grow anything except a few carpet plants.

Java ferns don't need to be attached to anything to grow. I have a pretty significant amount of java fern growing in my substrate. Just plant the roots (not too deep) and they will be fine.

Some species of crypt (broze i think) will work in low light. Hyrgos of any kind will also do fine in low light.
