I have a 2.5g tank with a Betta and a Bamboo Shrimp. The Shrimp is 2 inches long and has totally disappeared. As I said, it's only a 2.5g tank, there aren't that many options when it comes to hiding places. So, I am guessing he has buried himself. The question is...How do I not squish him? I was moving the rocks around to have a look for him, if he's under the gravel, how do you decide where to put the rock? I have a covered tank, so he has got to be in there...I think....

Some shrimp like to burrow in the substrate for protection. I would just leave the rock out until you see him again, but if the rock isn't huge compared to his size, then I don't think he should have a problem digging out from under it.

move the gravel around until you find him then you can put the rock back down wherever you want

I have layered substrate and it's lightly planted. I will just wait till he comes out on his own.

All 3 of my shrimp like to hang out in one little bushy plant I have.
It's great.

They look like crows hanging out in a tree.
