Hey all, got a few plants that are supposedly low light plants. Anyways I bought a couple that came potted in little pots. I just threw them in the tank and forced them down under the gravel, still potted. Was I supposed to remove the pot? Those plants that aren't potted, do i just bury them in the gravel as well? Sorry, these are probably newb questions. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

Yeah, you need to remove the plants from the pots and plant them directly in the gravel. Also remove all of the rock wool from around the roots. If you don't it will cause the roots to rot and foul the water.

Ah crappy, okay off to do it! I assume the rock wool are the little stringy things below the pots? Thanks for the quick reply!

the rock woll is the stuff that the plants are planted in that looks like thick filter floss.
Careful to damage as little of the roots as possible.

After i removed floss type stuff, I separate the plant/roots into some smaller pieces and planted seperately throughout the tank. Is this okay? Will they grow and develop? Or should I have kept the complete plant together? Thanks for help!

What kind of plant? In most cases yes the whole plant will grow from a peice.
