Hello,

I have a 120L planted tank with some black widow tetras, corries, zebra danios and a pleco. One of the black widow tetras had its fin near the anus rotting and rotted so much that it started bleeding. I went and bought SERA baktopur and treated it and things went better until it was infected with fungus. So I begun treatment with ectopur, costapur and mycopur. The problem is that nothing changes and the poor fish is still infected with fungus. Water conditions are good and I also add SERA fishtamins. Might it be the problem that SERA's products are not strong enough to help out the sittuation? I was never able to treat a disease and now that I am trying as hard as ever its still not working.

Whats wrong? Why do the diseases always win?

PS: I am treatingthe whole of the tank so that the disease will not spread.

Regards,

John.

do you have a smaller quarantine tank that you could treat the diseased fish in?

Here are the pics of two fish. The white one has the fungus and the other one has somekind of problem on its upper jaw.

I got a platy with some fungus on its 2 hands (whatever fins they're called)

I bought Sera Omnipur, supposed to treat fungus and other common diseases, but no good for like 2 weeks now

I have it in a quarantine tank, and it seems that instead of adding medicine, ill just buy new one, its cheaper with small common fish...

You pictures are almost unviewable because they are sooooo huge. Imagines shouldn't be over 800 x 800 or the margins get all tossed out here, as these are.

I have to ask why you waited so long to treat these fish? Antibiotics should have been added immediately when this started. Fungual meds and metafix should have gone in the tank the first day you saw this was happening.

I feel very bad for these fish that certainly are suffering.

They have been on meds from the very first day....that why I am disapointed...I even left them in my planted tank so they dont suffer any stress....I am in the hobby for years and certainly will not allow any of my fish to suffer as well as I am not willing to put them to sleep...

I don't know what it is but whatever it is, it appears to be affecting all your fish. Metafix and primafix may help but some look as they are really too far along to fix. It could be bacterial or insectial but you sure have a mess on your hands. Sorry.

I see you mentioned only two fish so that's good but whatever it is, it may spread to the others. Sometimes in order to save all, you must part with one or two.

I looked at your pics again and am almost convinced this was just fin rot when it started but advanced until the anal fin was totally gone and the bacteria has gone into the meat. I doubt you can treat this now in it's advanced state.
