Fish LOVE is in the air!

Well i just had my first glimpse at fish porn today... LOL two ofmy red zebs, im gonna hope are m and f were doing the roundy round with all the convulsing and the nipping at the eggspots. I could actually se her cheeks/jowls begin to fill up,,, now shes up hiding behind the HOB filter... how long is the gestation period. I know shes going to seculde herself and all, just curious as to how long she shold be like that if she holds... shes very young...

18-21 days is the norm, but could be as short as 15 or as long or as long as 35 days.

i think it's 3 weeks but she may spit sooner. my melanochromis tank has a female holding for at least a week now.

If you're going to strip her of the fry, do it early into the 3rd week of holding.

No no stirpping here i mean she mustve done that alreyd to entice big red. lol...anyway gonna let nature take its course... gonna get some marbles though to drop in th back of the tank behind some rock so as not disturb the decor and maybe provide a place for the fry to hide out... or should put some dense fake foliage back there... any ideas.

Lots of rocks which form crevices that the larger fish can't get into and provided multiple spots for the fry.
