Aka bucktooth tetras.

Anyone see them at there pet stores? I heard they are expensive. I really want to put a nice large school in my 2nd 55. Haven't seen them in any stores. I saw one guy selling 17 on Craigslist who wanted 175 for them all.

Theres one just north of Niagra Falls! lol
I don't know if they have them on line or not.
Have you talked to any stores about ordering you some?

Are you getting them to be all by themselves? These guys are really nasty little buggers and aren't recommended to be with anything. They tear the scales off of other fish and can cause serious infection. They will even terrorize african cichlids if they are put in with them. And im sure you've researched them, but just make sure to get no less than a school of 8.

That's why I want them lol.

Though I'm a bit weary of buying live things that I can't see on the internet.

Ya they were going to be by themselves. I could probably put quite a bit in a 55. They get 4-5 inches.

I've seen them form time to time locally, but the stores never seem to have very many when they get them. Cool fish , just not something to try in a community setting of any sort.

It would like $120 for 20 with shipping.

I think I'll wait to see if I can get a deal locally.

Good link, thanks.

The picture of the dried ones mouth wear you can see the teeth is awesome. I'll be wearing some kind of glove for maintenance if I get them.

I have never seen them in NZ. Wished I could find them. Nothing like a excuse to set up a new tank.:22:

IMO I would see if you could get into contact with the chap on line and get pics ECT on them, along with as much info as you could. I never thus far had any trouble with mail order.

They won't bite you or anything... I've kept them and they are skittish like piranhas. They are also good jumpers, so have a good lid.
