At the moment my 55 gallon has...
1 Veil Angelfish
1 Shubunkin Goldfish
2 Gold Gourami
2 Flame Gourami
6 Long Finned Zebra Danio
5 Dojo Loaches
2 Ghost Glass Catfish
10 Cory Catfish
2 Betta (separated)
2 Hybrid Plecos

I am thinking about getting a possible 20 more danios...but other than that I think my tank is completed.

I just am happy to my tank running and thought I'd share with others who might like...any suggestions?

Is that beta permanently housed in that small glass bowl? And yes,you are fully stocked. What exactly is a hybrid plec?

Hi Curious,

Welcome to AC! Your stocking list needs a good bit of refinement, if you are interested in further input we'd be happy to help you in the beginners corner area of the forum.

Welcome to the forum! We can help, but you're presently overstocked IMO and might hafta trade in some fish to make a better tank.

hi and welcome

Looks nice, may need a bit of adjustment, not much though. I would say return the shubuk.

Also do you swap over your bettas, i have 2 seperated in my tank, but slightly different so as to provide them better filtration. My seperated fish is in a breeder tank that clips onto the side and lidded. It has holes for filtration, so although he is in a small tank thhe filtratted water is bigger so its as good as being in the main tank. Once a week i swaap them over so that they each get a turn in main tank. Also have plants in the breeder tank.

I change the water in the Betta's containers every three or four days. I used to let one out, but his fins go a little torn, not too bad though, so I rehoused him in glass with a rooted plant. the other Betta has small floating plants overhead.

I set up my tank about half a year ago.

I really like the UGs because I have so many bottom-feeders that they keep the ground clean...any suggestions with that scenario?...I thought it was a good idea. I accept that I could be wrong though.

Attatched is a picture of my Pleco. My Local Pet Guy said that they were probably part vampire...I have no idea though.

Also, I love the Shubunkin and I was wandering...why should he be removed? He gets along well with his tank-mates, and one of my Gold Gourami seems to be the alpha of the tank, and he doesn't give the Shubunkin any problem

Seems like a cool setup, I like the layout.

I wouldn't add any more to it though. If everyone is getting along you should be ok, although people with more experience with the particular species will be able to help more.

I do think that you might want to get something larger for the bettas. You might want to consider releasing one into the tank and getting another 3-5G for the second. Just a thought though.

They look like clown plecs to me.Do you have driftwood for them? They need wood in there diet.Do the betas a favor and get them there own 2-3 gal tank.Welcome to the forum.
I looked at the pic again, they are clowns for sure. Not a hybrid.

Well the Bettas are definitely about to get new homes.

Thanks for the advice...and thanks for helping me figure out what kind of Pleco I have.
