Hi , This is all new to me so I hope I am on the right page LOL. I am not a big fish breeder type. I got a tank which was left in a apartment when the tenents moved out. About 8 weeks ago I got a Platy to add to it just for color. 5 weeks ago when I went to clean the tank I found a single little fri. I thought it was cool a held off on cleaning the tank I figured she had more and they got eaten. The fri is doing great and swimming around like he owns the place my problem is that a week ago I noticed she looked really fat and in the next day I had about 20 to 30 more little fri in the tank. She is my only platy in my tank so I assume she was pregnent when I got her. but I don't understand how she could have one then 4 weeks later have more. Is this normal?
Thanks

hey.
What size tank is it? how can someone just leave it?
Platys can become pregnant along time after you get them.

Welcome to AC!
Livebearing fish can hold sperm in their bodies for several broods! Congrats on the fry!

Welcome to the forum. As the others have posted, Platies can store sperm for 7-9 months after just one mating. You'll be over run in no time. Think of it as 200 for the price of one :)

Welcome to AC. Rather the same thing here with me. I have an Endler (guppy) and she is also ready to pop. I've had her for about 3 months with no mate.
