i had 4 tb's in my 29 out of which one died yesterday of ich :scry:
the others have white spots too and they dont move around together anymore...they are all in different corners of the tank...and they harly swim... is it because of their illness? they are on treatment now... the white spots have almost gone away from the other fishes in the tank....

They are under tremendous stress. Hopefully the ich treeatment will help them soon. How are you treating it?

I'v got the medicine...and as instructed, put 3 cap fulls of it in the tank... the mollies have started to show signs of improvement but not the tb's...
temp is on 30 c...
should i move the tiger barbs temporarily into my 5g and put them back in the tank once they are better? i know 5g is wayy to small but im really worried that what if the mollies get it again?
also, is it ok to add new fishes to the tank at this moment? I thought of getting couple of tetras and a gourami tomorrow..

No new fish until at least a week after all traces of the ich is gone. Arem the mollies ich free or just looking better. You need to follow the complete course of treatment on the bottle.

Why do you suppose the tank came down with ich?

Treat one week after the last signs of ich.

Lower the temp back down, it will cut back on stress. Its not recommended to raise the temp when using ich meds, its a different treatment.

When you see the ick it is not being killed by medication. Only after these spots fall off the fish and reproduce on the bottom of the tank are they able to be killed. Continue treatment as instructed by the others to kill the ick after reproducing.

am I supposed to do a gravel vaccum once all the ick is off the fish to make sure theres no trace left in the tank?

If your tank is way too cold, your fish will be stressed, but I don't know if that would cause the ich....

A good thorough gravel vac is a good idea once the spots all fall off. Just remember to add more medication for the new water your refilling with so you can finish the treatment. Also, if you run carbon, be sure to remove it during treatment since it'll remove the meds.

76-78 for most tropical fish. Ick can live a long time in cooler tanks so get that water warned up. Temps don't need to be higher when using medications. It only gets raised when using salt.
