Hi,

Im planning to set up a 1ft cube with Brazilian Micro Sword-lilaeopsis brasiliensis. Here is the setup:

1 ft cube
Laterite+Peat+2-3mm gravel - About 2-2.5 inches in total
Light- 2x23W CFL, starting with 6 hours
No dosing for the first 2 weeks
water change-50% weekly
CO2-Pressurized, Diffuser, 2bps
A tiny internal power filter to keep the water flowing
No fauna for now, planning to add RCS in a month or so.

Please let me know your experience and any advice you have on this plant.

thanks

I have some in my 10g for awhile and it hasn't done much. It's surviving but not thriving and I'm not sure why. I dose flourish complete and excel and have about 3watt/gal.

Best to give it some time. The microsword I have took a while to get really get established, but once it had, it really took off. The co2 and ferts should help a fair bit. Mine is being grown with just 2-3 watts per gallon, I dry dose fertilizers 2-3x a week, using ecocomplete substrate and no co2.

I think the main thing with plants is to really give their roots time to get established. After that it's only a matter of playing with light/substrate/ferts.
