Thats a nice tank! Beautiful fish!
I do think you should find a dark background! It will make the fish stand out more.

very nice fish and tank. Do you spend a lot of time replanting?

I've been thinking lately about some kind of background. Do you think a solid dark color would best? The plants don't get moved around too much believe it or not. I can't put anything near the bottom left cave entrances the kenyii always rips those ones out.

I like black or a dark navy blue best for backgrounds.I have also seen a dark burgundy used and it looked fantastic. You can try using Bristol Board, the stuff kids use to post a project in school. Its cheap and works great because its flat finish.

Thats a good idea. I may buy a few different colors and see which suits the tank best. Thanks for the advice. I was looking through your pictures what kind of snail do you have? It's cool looking

Thanks! That is my Apple snail.
They are great fun for most community tanks.Your fish would probably kill one.Your ph would be perfect though.lol

Looks good right now but I think you will have problems growing plants. The gravel is pretty coarse for successful root growth.

Well this has been my first planted tank. So far I've had overall sucess 8 months in to it. Only problems have been the anubias. If you look at my pictures you can see there has been many alterations lol

Im thinking about doing a tank simular to yours obida0429. I like the fish you chose. Not a fan of the loach, but love the kenyii, lab, and fuelleborni.

The tank I have has a black background, I also placed bamboo plants in the back of the tank. Did that about a week ago they have not been moved.
