You can order GBR online - or you can look at dwarf gouramis
And what do you mean changing? You mean your sig or the fish?

haha i meant the sig, but whats a good online site to order fish off of... isnt that a little risky?(seeing as how i live all the way up here in eastern canada where we live in igloos and travel by dogsled)

Ask your lfs to order some for you!

GBRs would make an excellent centerpiece in your tank.
You may also consider adding a type of smaller schooling fish such as Neon Tetras and Zebra Danios. You could get around 8 of them.

alright guys, i they gave me a new young pleco, and then i bought 3 baby african cichlids.CALMER DOWN!!!! im only keeping them in there until they get to big, then im putting them up for sale, or possibly by that time i will have a largr tank to house them in, but like i said, no reason to getfrustrated, there each about 2 cm long, so yea.

yes there is plenty of reason to get frustrated
You buy fish for the tank you have, not the tank you MIGHT have in the future

says you , why are you so nasty? did your mother not teach you manners...
instead of being ignorant, you couldve just said, I believe you should deffinetly think about returning the fish, or in a little while giving them to a bigger home.
something more polite would suffice.
may i remind you, i also have a pleco, which many people get for 10 gallons and up, they're gonna get bigger than my cichlids

Ryan - i have gone at length to help you both publicly and privately. You have also seen the way people here keep fish. Please do not lecture me on manners.
You were advised at length about appropriate fish when you were getting your 25g with all those other fish.
I am frankly done helping you and holding your hand thru PMs or threads. Good luck with your fish.

your not very nice,(not much help either) and ill let anyone in the future i help know that. I can do this all by myself but its nice to know SOME nice people on this site are ACTUALLY devoted to helping others.
Ryan, I mostly agree with rob.
The reason he didn't say
"I believe you should deffinetly think about returning the fish, or in a little while giving them to a bigger home."
Is because that is the answer you wanted to hear, not the correct one.
People should never plant to keep fish until they get too big or intend to get a bigger tank in the future.
You will need at least 75 gallons for that pleco.
I don't get though, you said that you knew a pleco wasn't appropriate so you returned it and got another one?

Ryan, Rob is not trying to be mean. People get frustrated when they try to give good advice and it goes ignored. I agree with him in that you should buy fish suitable to the size tank that you already have, and not for a possible larger tank that you may or may not get in the future. There are a lot of fish that can be suitably housed in a 25 gallon tank, and I suggest that you return the fish that you added and choose some that can.
Most tetras, dwarf cichlids, corys, and rasboras , and livebearers can thrive in a 25 gallon tank. There are several other species as well. A nice stocking plan would be a dwarf gourami, a school of 12 of some type of tetra, and a school of corys.
If you like livebearers, you can go with platties or guppies.
A pair of apistos or rams are a good choice for that size tank, and can also get along with most tetras or other small schooling community fish.

yea guys i get it. But hes been rude to me ever since my first post and i dont intend to be nice to someone who isnt willing to return the favor. Listen i dont have a problem with you telling me i shouldnt have the fish in there, he puts it in a very discouraging way, Kingfisher, i ENJOYED reading your comments, not so much robs. Im aware there going to outgrow the tank, i DID take robs comment into consideration, so i got on the phone and started calling a few people...turns out my friend who i was originally going to get media from her empty 110 gal tank ...found out she still has it cycled, and would love to buy my cichlids. See the whole point of this is not that i dont agree or take his comments into consideration, its just hes so impolite and rude. King Fisher, you gave me great advice on what kind of fish to put in my tank, robs one word answers are not so helpful.

You have got to be kidding me? Go back and read thru your PMs and remember how I held your hand and explained the Nitrogren cycle step by step and offered that you could PM whenever you didnt want to post in the public forum.

Go re-read all of your threads. I answered all of your questions in a polite and respectful manner. Do you not remember your cycling thread? Once again go read your PMs
You will quickly alienate people by jumping all over them when you lie and change the truth, and only respond to the answers you want to hear.
Refrain from calling me out in public in the future - if you have a problem, alert the mods or PM me.

Ryan,
I definately understand your feelings - Rob's answer here did come across a bit contrite. Please understand his point of view though.
Rob is perhaps one of the most helpful, knowledgeable fish keepers on this site. I have read through the threads and I sincerely believe he is trying to help you - and his advice was not only good, it was absolutely right.
If you read many of the "help" threads from new aquarists, Rob is always there to lend advice but understandably gets frustrated when poeple knowingly go against that advice then still want help.
Robs advice on my threads made me realize a great many things that I was doing wrong, and has saved me from countless hours of frustration and fish loss. If you choose not to use his advice, that's fine - it's your call. But please understand Rob and MOST of the people here take this "hobby" VERY seriously, and when they give advice it's from the heart and should not be taken lightly.

I'm closing the thread before it goes further.
@Ryanlives: 99.9 percent of the people on this site enjoying helping others, as often times, we have made mistakes that we'd not like to see other people repeat. It's up to to you to listen and take the advice, ultimately, or do things your way.
