Rubberlip Pleco and Planted aquarium?

I've read on here that plecos are notorious for eating up aquarium plants.........what about the rubberlip pleco?

I know that they aren't supposed to get nearly as large......

theyre more concerned about algae, but i cant guarantee it wont eat plants
