Still needs some driftwood at least. I'm workin' on that. Not very happy with it but imo it looks a lot more natural than it did, and the cows seem to enjoy the sand and uneven substrate in the back.

A little (crappy) vid...

The one who keeps pacing the glass in front is the largest and friendliest of the herd. <3

A question -
Some of you may have read about that 40g I wanted to turn into a cory biotope. I discovered today that it was originally used for reptiles...which is bad for a variety of reasons.

But does that glass look like the right thickness to you? That line is the rim with my finger next to it for comparison. I'd say it's about half my finger width? If I layered new silicone on all the corners...and if this is the appropriate width for a 40g tank...do you think it could hold water? I had it sitting out on my porch for 2 days completely filled with no problems, but of course that doesn't mean it's safe.
Curse my cheapness, lol. If it's deemed unsafe by you guys I won't use it though.

Thanks!

Glass should be a quarter inch thick for a 40 gallon.

If you must have fish in the tank and it won't hold water, you can make it into a paludarium.

Just a sample they can vary to your liking.

Can you measure the glass with a ruler?
It looks like 3/8".
If it as a reptile tank then reseal it.Wash it out really well first.
Remove all the silicone in the corners and reseal it.

lol, tape measurers work better than fingers. :P

Yes, it is a quarter inch exactly. When I reseal it, can it just be with plain old all-purpose silicone or is there an "aquarium grade" silicone I should use?

Paludariums are cool. :)

I resealed my tank in my journal. There are pics there of how I did it and what silicone is safe to use.Its easy to do but make sure you remove all the silicone because new silicone will not stick to old.
I used alcohol to remove it after I was done with the razor blades.
