Hi i am looking for a new exotic pleco to replace my common pleco and i was wondering if anyone knew of one that eats a lot of algae as well. My common pleco is too aggressive for my snowball so im looking for a more passive one. Thanks for your reply!

BN plecos do well with algae eating. They could be a good alternative. But they can sometimes be aggressive, so I'm going to recommend a rubberlip, or bulldog, pleco.

A female BN wouldn't be a problem with aggression. For that matter males are mainly territorial, more inclined to argue with other male BN than other species. Common pleco's are a completely different critter. I once saw one (at the lfs) chow down a feeder goldfish it had managed to trap against the front glass.
