I have a 10 gallon split into three 3.3 gallons. One section will house my existing female betta and the second will house a new male. What could I put in the last section? I know I could just put another betta in it but I kinda wanted something different! Thanks!

No fish can go in a 3.3 gallon area. Why not try and use the entire 10 gallons for both betas since one is male and one is female. They may pair off.

The minimum tank size for a betta is 3 gallons. I don't want to breed them.

The bettas will kill each other in the 10, the female probably being the winner.
I wouldn't keep a betta in less than a 2.5 gallon.... 3.3 is acceptable IMO.
Reptile - cherry shrimp for the last third.

I thought thats where most had a male and female? lol :help:
And you could always take out the eggs if they did breed, no biggie there.

While they are very similar to gouramis, that's one area where they differ. A 20L may work for a betta pair, but definitely not an undivided 10.
Most keep their females in a seperate tank.

If you get cherry shrimp, you could feed the baby shrimp to the bettas! They'd love it!
