Asking for a friend..He used to use salt for aquarium disinfection. 120cm is the tank length, and two spoon of salt he usually put. Now he's thinking of buying Pangio Kuhiis, and i know salt is a bit fatal for loaches, can kuhii survive with a little salt? how about, lets say, 1%? Or should he not use salt anymore.

No reason to use salt in a tank, other than for brackish, marine tank or the salts peculiar to the rift lakes of Africa. And you are correct; salt is quite stressful to loaches.

So, get rid of the salt, and keep the loaches you want, or keep it, and don't. Up to you.

Oh and welcome to the forum :)

Thank you. Ive just found this friendly forum :)
I'm just wondering- Coarse salt(aquarium salt?)- can't it be used in freshwater fish tank? Do it have advantages?

IMO unless the tank is brackish or needs salt for the fish to live in, then I would not try it. No matter what.
