i know its over crowded but im thinking of getting rid of them and having a tank makeover. The cichlids have completely destroyed the tank and uprooted my live plants and jus tmade a mess of things lol.

my 10g has.....

3 african river cichlids
1 algea eater
2 guppies that were part of like 10 that i caught at a local lake for feeder fish but they survived and have been living in the tank for a couple weeks
1 south texas cichlid i caught at a local lake

The african cichlids you have are actually from Lake Malawi rather than being "african river cichlids".

Yep, trading/selling/giving them away is a good idea since they're poorly suited for long-term housing in a 10gal.
