In my purchase of a 55g, i came upon a package of "Tetranature's Delica Whole bloodworms packed in a nutrient rich gel." It seems to be bloodworms in a fluid (hence the name). Would these be safe to feed to my cichlids? I have 2 bumblebees (1.5") and one powderblue (2.5"). Any insight is good.

Since Reptileguy isn't on:

"There's no need to feed live food to cichlids as long as they are getting premium staple food, as it introduces the risk of parasites and diseases. I would highly recommend New Life Spectrum pellets for your cichlids. Failing that, Hikari Bio-Gold + are the best that Hikari makes."

I dont think they are live though. And "Tetra" is a pretty refutable company, no?

So true, some of the lake cichlids are more herbivores than anything and I know I am NOT allowed to feed extra bloodworms or shrimp to hubby's mbuna tank!!!! I have to feed bloodworms, shrimp, etc to my puffers and usually have a few extra and I am not allowed to treat his tank to them, I have to find my own greedy buggers that will eat them!

I try to give all my fish bloodworm once a week, but now its like every 2 weeks. They cant handle the meatyness of it and get bloated.
