I have had my Platys for about 1 month, and 1 week. I had them in the 10 Gallon and moved them into my 30 Gallon when I got it they have been very fat, and chubby. There is 3 females. What could it be?

Platies, like all livebearers, can store sperm, so they were probably impregnated at the LFS. You are going to have your hands full after those three are done ;)

I'm not exactly sure what the problem is. If they're just fat, that's normal, it means you're feeding them well (or maybe a bit too much:ezpi_wink1: )
To tell if they're pregnant, look behind at their abdomen. If the back third is dark, they're probably pregnant. Though, after 5 weeks, they should have had babies by now. Normal gestation is around 4-4.5 weeks.

Do platies have a gravid spot like on guppies?

Not as obvious as guppies, unless they are white.

If the coloration is really good, it's kinda hard to tell sometimes. But you can usually see a darker area. But some varieties are almost transparent, like guppies, and it's easier to tell.
