Paricles in water after changed

Hey, I am just starting up a 220 Gal tank, only have a few small fish in it. The water seemed clean, but i figured it was time so I did a 25% water change. I bought a brand new bucket to do it with, and when I put the new water in, It was loaded with particles I didnt notice untill I turned the light on!! The tank is filthy! Any advice?

Placing fine filter floss/pad in your filter will help catch most of the small particles. If it is really bad and you are impatient you can do another partial water change.

Just to clarify, the particles are from your tap water or was it during the water change it got stirred up?

I really don't know if it was from the tap water or not, but its a couple hours later and they are gone now... so I dont know what the problem was. Oh well. and thanks for the info about editing posts

Oh good. Everything must have settled to the bottom and/or been filter out.

Joey, is this the tank you are cycling? (I think it was you.) If so, do not clean the gravel or change filter media yet. If I have the wrong person, please disregard.
