Will the flowerhorn parent eat their own fry even when there is no predator or pressure from the pet keeper?

Flowerhorn cichlids usually protect their fry regardless of wether there are other fish present.

It is however impossible to know how your pair will do. They might fail their first spawning and become better prents later on.

I suggest that you save some of the fry (if you want to raise them) and leave some with the parents to test their parenting skills. The male might also hurt or kill the female if all fry is taken from them to soon. (he wants to spawn again directly after they lost their fry, the females need times to get in spawning condition)

Will a Flowerhorn if it is a good parent protect there young until the young decide to leave or will they eventually start attacking them?

They will usually protect their young until it is time to spawn again. Once they do that they will rotect their new bacth of fry from their old fry and kil the old fry id they aren't removed.
