That site would have been helpful a month ago when I couldn't figure out why my plants were getting paler. Took me forever to figure out they needed Iron.

You could just throw in a little of everything ;)

Great site, but it's important to remember that there is no absolute standard for signs of nutrient deficiency, and it can vary with different varieties of plants, so this should only be a guideline, not a look-up chart.

ok, what about spots on leaves that have an opaque look?

Like it's rotting? Or...?

Like it's rotting? Or...?yea, i guess. the whole leaf doesn't die though, just the spot. it's mainly happening on my banana plants and i've seen a couple of java fern sprouts with it too.

What color are the spots? Can you post a pic? I'm still relatively new to plants. I'll try my best, but you may have better luck posting a pic at plantedtank.net.

the spots are the same color as the leaf but they are opaque (clearish). after a bit as the spot dies (i guess) it turns more brownish opaque and then finally detatches from the leaf as a dead piece.

Not sure about that. You should try PT though. The guys there have a lot of experience.
