Does anyone know where to get good info on breeding blood parrots? I have heard that a male convict fish will fertilize the female blood parrot's eggs. Do I need 2 blood parrots - male and female? Will the male convict fertilize or was this a line.

Blood parrots are sterile due to being hybrids and they do not have fry.

I did want to correct myself in saying that it's very unusual for a parrot to have fry. It's been known to happen but not very often. They lay eggs but the eggs are most often unfertile.

I THINK i had bloodparrot fry a few years ago, and yes only a coupe survived for a few days.
