I just scored the friggen deal of the century! I got a 55gallon tank, 1 55gallon tank stand, 1 filter (45-60 gallon rated) 1 penguin biowheel (15-20 GR), and 2 regent filters (10-15 GR), 1 sponge filter, 1 170 gph powerhead (needs new impeller, but i can use it if one of my saltwater ones goes out, as they are the same kind), 1 airpump with 2 exhausts, an air pump with 1 exhaust, 12 small-large decorations, 1 package krill, 1 package (live??? they are packed in a fluid) bloodworms, 1 big bag of hikari cichlid gold large pellets, 2 15 watt lights, 2 things to either neutralize/add (i dont know what they do) copper, 1 bottle water clearing agent, 1 bottle decholrinator, LOTS of air tubing, 1 power strip, 75 lbs plant growing gravel, 8-10 live plants (i think some are brazilian penny wart), 16 goldfish, 1 300??? watt heater, and 2 hoods for, get this, only 225 DOLLARS!!!
I am so stoked. I cant wait untill tommorow. Imthinking about an albino tiger oscar.
The guy had in this tank all at the same time, 1 15" oscar, 3 8" jack dempesys, 1 12" pleco, 2 8" plecos, and 16 goldfish. Yeah, overstock much?
i kinda feel bad for him though, he said all but the gold died when he was out of town and the circut breaker flipped.
Congrats!
Whatch gonna do with all them fishies???

Thats ok, i like tough love....lol
My neighbor has a tank that he specifically uses for bait. I just gave them to him. My mom wanted to keep a calico looking one, but when i told her how much they poop, she decided against it. The guy only lives 8 miles away from my house too!
Heres the link incase anyone wants to oggle my goods... oggle, dont touch!!

Pennywort will do fine under the normal tank lighting. Amazon swords will do ok, but they really need bright lights and a rich substrate or else they will look kinda sad. Water sprite will do ok in normal lighting as well.

I am going to get a huge shop light and run another one of the 20" lights on the 55, and one on the 10 nano.

Save the money. Shoplights (T-12's) are relatively inefficient and hard to make a decent reflector for because they are so fat.

Thats an informitive website, but i am not going to try to plant it heavily. I have 5 plants that i havent given away yet, and if they dont make it, i wont me terribly upset.

Just use the tank lighting then. Shoplights will be a waste of money and time :)

make sure you give that amazon a deep area to root in! They like about four inches, so if you dont want that much all over the tank, make the little guy a pitcher's mound to grow down into!

Well, i feel stupid now. When me and my neighbor moved my tank. We moved it downstairs. My room (where i want it) is upstairs. It is a 55 gallon tank, probobly already weighs a ton, but it also has 75 lbs of gravel in it. I am in for a treat, as the only one who is home right now to help me move it is my brother, and i dont think hes gonna help me (or CAN help me for that matter), so i am going to have to wait unitill someone else gets off from work.
