Here's a few pics of my tank! The first is a pic of the tank with the flash on, kinda lights EVERYTHING up. The second is one of my Silver Lyretail Mollies, that one was extremely hard to photograph, an the last is a small pic of my tank with the flash off. Hope you all approve of the pics!

Nice! From what I've seen, you get better results with no flash, a darkened room, and tank lights on.

That's funny you say that, cause that's exactly what I had tried. This camera's got so many settings on it that I think the flash is on as high as it can go. But yeah, the no lights in the room pictures turned out a lot better than the ones with the lights on. How do I go about submitting that picture of my Molly for the photo contest? I'm proud of it.

I have the same heater as you i think. Is it all-glass?

Yes sir it is. I actually don't really like it. Hard to maintain temp with it

Hmmm, must be a defect. Mines very constant. It held my 10g at a constant 77F, and now it actually keeps my 20g salt at a perfect 80F

I've got it set right now to 81, an it's at 78 degrees. I've always had to set it a few degrees over to get it to stabilize. But it's ok, it stays at 78 now.

Put it closer to the inlet of the filter. You'll get better heat distribution that way.

For my hydor canister filter, im gonna get a cool do-hicky. Its a heater that connects to the output tube, and warms water.

With the 55 i bought, there is an ancient penplax heater. Still works, its kinda cool too!
