Hi people
You all seem like friendly and helpful people so I hope you can help.
In August 2006 I installed 3 ½ panels of Juwel Aquariums structured Rock Background into my new 7ftxftx2ft tropical freshwater tank.
Within 2 weeks of being installed in my new tank the brown colour of the Rock Background face began to peel off to reveal black underneath. Seven months on and nearly 2 of the panels are COMPLETELY BLACK!!! And the rest peeling also.
The peelings have caused no end of problems the very least of all them being the background now looks unnatural.
I have no other choice but to break the whole tank down and remove the background and silicon and find a suitable background.
I have spoken to Juwel who have informed me that they sold over 6000 of these in 2006 and there have only been a few incidents similar to this.
I would like to ask if any of you have had, or have heard of any quality issues with this product.
I sincerely hope that I am just in the unlucky “few out of 6000” because this whole situation has been a nightmare.
